Provides exceptional patient care in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons and other physicians to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures. Cultivates a patient‑centric environment which focuses on the whole individual inclusive of physical, psychosocial, spiritual and functional needs of the patient, family, and significant others. Serves as the focal professional for the continuity of care within scope of practice standards, as well as specialty‑specific standards to address and resolve problems that may arise. EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran Responsibilities Clinical Care – Implements accurate, safe, patient‑centric anesthetic care. Professional Skill – Understands physiologic implications and anesthetic considerations of surgical procedures, constantly monitors vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry during anesthesia according to ASA guidelines. Information Management – Ensures appropriate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements and protects information of all forms from unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or disclosure. Quality Management – Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care. Professional Development – Continuously engages in projects that maintain and advance professional competency. Qualifications Education Completion of a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Training Program. Graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs. Current State of Connecticut Nursing License, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the State of Connecticut. Experience Prefer clinical working experience as a CRNA within the given specialty/service line, but none required. APRNs, PAs, CRNAs and CNMs are required to be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process. Evidence of current competence to practice as an APRN, PA, CRNA, or CNM via appropriate reference letters from physicians and other practitioners obtained during the Medical Staff appointment process. Licensure Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – AANA Certification. State of CT RN and APRN License. ACLS, DEA Registration, and State of CT Controlled Substance Registration. Special Skills Sharp concentration and focus, with the ability to stay calm under stressful conditions. Clear and effective communication with surgeons, the surgical support team, patients, and families. Demonstrates a calm and reassuring manner to inspire trust in patients who may be apprehensive about surgery. Immediate and responsive anesthetic patient management, with flexibility and adaptability. Physical Demand Demonstrates intellectual‐conceptual, integrative and quantitative abilities; observation, communication and motor functions; and mature behavioral and social attributes. Detects and interprets changes in monitoring alarms and equipment; functional vision and hearing, with adequate sense of smell and tactile sensation. Must be able to speak, hear and observe; communicate effectively, including speech, reading and writing. Entrusted with sufficient motor function to elicit pertinent information; stand for long periods and wear lead as needed for fluoroscopy, X‑Ray cases. Can lift 25 pounds and reach above and below shoulder height; maneuver patients between anesthesia locations. Ability to coordinate both gross and fine muscular movements, equilibrium and functional use of touch and vision. Problem‑solving, critical skill demanding measurement, calculation, reasoning, analysis and synthesis. Understand 3‑dimensional relationships and spatial relationships. Exhibits emotional health for full utilization of intellectual abilities, good judgment, and completion of responsibilities. Can tolerate physically taxing workloads, function effectively under stress, adapt to changing environments, and learn in uncertain clinical situations. #J-18808-Ljbffr Yale New Haven Health
