Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring Epic EMR experience, a CA RN license, and a minimum of 3 years of ED experience.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Epic EMR used; experience is required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, unrestricted and in good standing
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 3 years of ED nursing experience required
• Experience working within the last 3 months in the ED specialty required
• Epic EMR experience required
• TNCC certification required within 1 year of hire
• Demonstrated competency in IV sedation required within 6 months of hire
• No prior disciplinary actions or hits on nursing license
• 2 supervisor references required: one from the past year and one from within the past two years
• MICN and CEN certifications preferred
• BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients throughout an assigned shift
• Collaborates with physicians and the broader healthcare team to coordinate patient care across all age groups
• Incorporates patient teaching and discharge planning into the overall plan of care
• Delegates appropriate aspects of care to other nursing staff based on clinical competence and legal scope of practice
• Position is represented by the California Nurses Association (CNA)
• RTO is limited to 5 days or fewer for the duration of the contract; requests exceeding this will result in automatic decline
