What is an Automotive Parts Specialist? This professional sales role supports the advanced functions of the DIY automotive business, requiring expert knowledge of store systems and automotive components. The ideal candidate will adeptly assist DIY customers in identifying, troubleshooting, and completing projects while sourcing parts through various channels. A deep understanding of store inventory and maintenance processes is crucial. Primary Responsibilities: Deliver a high-quality customer experience during DIY visits and phone interactions. Meet and exceed personal and store sales goals while achieving service objectives. Manage DIY services, including battery installation, testing, and wiper installations. Maintain exceptional standards for customer service and store presentation. Handle key holder responsibilities, including task assignments, safety protocols, and performing opening/closing duties. Secondary Responsibilities: Assist with inventory management tasks including stock put-away, cycle counts, and back stock organization. Ensure store cleanliness, including maintaining floors, bathrooms, and overall presentation. Provide hands-on services such as battery installation and testing for customers. Success Factors: Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor. Ability to locate and stock parts effectively. Knowledge of safety regulations and practices. Proficiency in operating inventory systems and store equipment. Expertise in parts and automotive systems, including diagnostic and testing equipment. Ability to utilize POS and parts lookup systems efficiently.I Advanced skills in sales and customer interaction. Essential Job Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of automotive systems including engines, suspensions, brakes, and electrical systems. Effective communication skills in English (Spanish is a plus). Ability to read and interpret documents related to safety, operations, and maintenance. Strong math skills for accurate calculations. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel). Excellent organizational skills. Flexible availability for various work schedules, including days, evenings, and weekends. Prior Experience: 3-5 years of experience in automotive parts or related field. Proven success in sales and customer transaction fulfillment. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license is required. ASE certification is preferred but not mandatory. Compensation Range: The estimated rate for this position is between $15.60 and $17.35 per hour, based on various factors such as geographic location, retail and automotive experience, education, and other relevant skills.
