Extinguisher & Suppression Technician

Overview:

· This position requires a self-motivated and willing to learn individual that will be maintaining current and new customer base throughout the Greater Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse and surrounding NY areas.

· The ability to manage and maintain day-to-day service-related calls and inspections.

· This position includes inspecting, installing, and servicing Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Suppression Systems, Industrial Systems as well as other related building system products

· Including installation/replacement and system testing.

· Respond to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoot and repair as needed.

· Will require after-hours & weekend service calls on rotation with other techs.

· Communicate with customers on current work order status and outstanding customer issues.

· Read and interpret blueprints, submittals, schematics & product manuals.

· The ability to create project documents such as drawings, bill of materials, scope of work narratives.

· Complete necessary certification courses on internal and external products used.

· Maintain company property and documentation in accordance with established policies; handle proprietary information in the prescribed manner

· Willing to learn other company services and products for cross training

Required Skills / Qualifications:

· Minimum 3yrs Experience in the industry & have installed suppression systems

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Experience with submitting & receiving emails via smart phone / iPad

· Experience with hand tools, test equipment, multi-meter usage, etc.

· Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying/moving equipment up to 50-70 lbs.

· Able to work on, and safely use ladders and lifts.

· Punctuality and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to meet customer requirements.

· Demonstrate a high level of customer service.

· Ability to work well with team members.

· Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.

· Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

· Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.

· Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
