Eau Claire Truck & Trailer is a locally owned and family-operated truck and trailer repair business that is a subsidiary of the Midwest Star Group and has been serving the Eau Claire area for more than 40 years. We are looking for a dependable, skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our team and help keep our customers safely and efficiently on the road.

What You’ll Do

As a Trailer Mechanic, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial trailers and related equipment. Responsibilities may include:

• Diagnose and repair trailer mechanical and electrical issues
• Perform brake and suspension repairs
• Troubleshoot air systems and trailer components
• Repair and replace trailer lighting and electrical systems
• Inspect and repair wheel bearings, axles, and related components
• Perform liftgate service and repairs
• Repair trailer floors, roofs, doors, and other structural components
• Perform welding, fabrication, and custom trailer repairs
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections
• Assist with DOT inspections and required repairs
• Identify needed repairs and communicate findings clearly
• Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and safety
• Occasionally assist with roadside or emergency repair situations

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience working on trailers, heavy-duty equipment, trucks, or similar equipment preferred
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to diagnose problems and determine the appropriate repair
• Welding/fabrication experience is a plus
• Electrical and air brake experience is a plus
• Ability to read and understand service information and wiring diagrams
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable, hardworking, and safety-minded
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• Valid driver’s license
• ASE certification or other relevant certifications are a plus, but not required
