Lead Project Manager - Utilities & Telecom

Manager, Project Location: Albuquerque, NM, US Operating Sector: Telecommunications Overview The Manager, Project role within Aecon Utilities, part of Aecon Telecommunications, leads the successful execution of construction projects. The Manager establishes and maintains project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, procurement, risk management, and quality and safety requirements. They also support business development and foster relationships with clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities. Responsibilities Ensure the financial performance of assigned projects meets business plan targets. Report operational performance, workload, potential legal issues, and opportunities to the Operations Manager. Resolve project-level legal disputes and report to the Operations Manager. Build and lead a management team with clearly defined responsibilities. Develop staff development and succession plans for key positions. Approve expenditures and proposal pricing within authority limits. Maintain direct contact with major clients and unions. Ensure all project activities align with corporate and divisional strategic plans, policies, and procedures. Supervise superintendents and all crews in the designated region. Travel primarily within New Mexico and occasionally nationwide as business needs arise. Qualifications Four‑year engineering degree or equivalent technical education. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or Project Manager. Experience in the utility contracting industry. Proven leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to resolve project disputes independently. Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and MS Project.
