Job Description
Small well respected custom furniture shop seeks master furniture maker for a full-time position. The role focuses on fabricating one-of-a-kind pieces from drawings, utilizing a combination of woodworking machines and traditional hand tools. The primary materials are hardwoods, veneer, and sheet goods, and the maker will be involved exclusively in the fabrication process.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate unique custom furniture pieces from blueprints
- Operate modern woodworking machinery
- Utilize traditional hand tools with proficiency
- Read and interpret design drawings accurately
- Assemble components into finished furniture pieces
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in furniture making
- Proficient with woodworking machinery and hand tools
- Skilled in blueprint reading
- Strong material knowledge, especially hardwoods
- High attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- Good time management and communication skills
