Field Engineer – QA/QC & Construction Oversight

We are seeking a highly motivated Field Engineer to serve as the on-site champion for quality during the construction of mission-critical data centers. Acting as the bridge between construction, engineering, and operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring facilities are built right the first time and are fully prepared for operational handover.

As the QA/QC Field Engineer, you will be the guardian of construction quality, driving excellence from ground breaking through commissioning. This role combines technical expertise, field leadership, and problem-solving, requiring a strong on-site presence and close collaboration with design engineers, project delivery teams, contractors, and commissioning specialists. Your work will directly influence the reliability, maintainability, and long-term performance of some of the most critical infrastructure in the world.

What You'll Do

• Lead the implementation and enforcement of QA/QC standards, ensuring all work complies with design specifications, operational requirements, and industry best practices.
• Conduct detailed site inspections, quality walkdowns, and construction reviews to verify workmanship and identify deviations before they become issues.
• Serve as the operations team's eyes and ears in the field, ensuring mission-critical MEP systems are installed and commissioned to the highest standards.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with plans, specifications, drawings, and quality requirements, validating both materials and installation practices.
• Identify safety concerns, quality risks, and construction discrepancies, helping maintain a safe and efficient project environment.
• Partner with design engineers, project managers, commissioning teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure every aspect of the facility aligns with operational expectations.
• Review MEP designs for new builds and fit-outs, providing practical operational insights that improve maintainability, reliability, and long-term performance.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including inspection reports, test records, daily progress updates, and as-built documentation.
• Verify installation quality by inspecting critical details such as labeling, equipment placement, component selection, torque requirements, sizing, and system configuration.
• Drive issue resolution by developing practical solutions and recommendations, not just identifying problems.
• Facilitate communication between designers, suppliers, contractors, and clients to resolve engineering challenges and keep projects moving forward.
