Medical Technologist- Microbiology

Position Summary: The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, results reporting, instrument maintenance and technical problem resolution. This position requires a service‑committed individual, detail oriented, able to perform complex data analysis, exercise sound independent judgment and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Responsibilities Receive specimens and establish and maintain positive identification of specimens. Determine suitability of specimen. Acquire and prepare reagents as needed. Perform instrument maintenance and calibration. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Sciences (required). Master’s degree in Medical Technology (preferred). Certification for Medical Technologist, MLS (ASCP), or MT (ASCP), or AMT or MT (AAB). Specialist certification in discipline (preferred). Specialist Hematology, SH (ASCP); Microbiology, SM (ASCP); Specialist Blood Banking, SBB (ASCP); Tech Chemistry, SC (ASCP).
