Apply now.Position OverviewThis position reports directly to the Production Supervisor and plays a critical role as a subject matter expert in crane operations. The primary responsibility is the safe and efficient operation of all crane types within the plant. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, integrity, and teamwork while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.Success in this role requires clear communication, proactive reporting of any safety or production concerns, and a dedication to continuous improvement. This team member will embody our core values—Continuous Improvement, Passion, Integrity, and Delivering Results—in every aspect of their work.Essential FunctionsFollows all safety protocols and procedures in a safety-sensitive environmentConducts pre-lift crane inspectionsPerforms monthly safety contact card auditsPractices good daily housekeepingUses proper lifting techniques ensuring safe movement of raw materials and pole sectionsAbility to become certified to operate all plant cranes after required trainingPrepare for lifts by identifying and marking the center of gravity (COG)Ability to operate overhead double-hoist, single-hoist cranes to lift, transport, and position pole sections to assembly stands or jigs as neededReview and interpret product data sheets for part numbers and assembly requirementsUnderstand how data sheet information affects the next steps in the processDetermine appropriate location for processed parts (e.g., west side rack, middle seamer, or west bay transfer rack)Use basic hand tools and tape measures to ensure accuracyMonitor equipment and report issues promptlyRecord data accurately for quality tracking and reportingPerform other tasks as assigned by managementRequired QualificationsA high awareness for safety at all times.Ability to work effectively with plant employees, supervisors, management and customers.Ability to prioritize work in order to complete deadlines. Must also be able to work through problem with the minimum amount of assistance from the lead person or supervisor.Ability to work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time result without errors.Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDA strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookMore than one year of general labor experience, preferably in a manufacturing environmentExperience in working with steel or in a similar manufacturing environmentPassion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional resultsWorking Environment and Physical EffortsWork is typically performed in a manufacturing plant environment and the associate needs to be able to move about the office, shipping area and all areas of the plant which are producing product line for the company. There is a relatively constant exposure to somewhat disagreeable work conditions such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, and cold as well as noise levels above 80 decibels. Work conditions vary throughout the week depending on the area of the plant assigned to work in. There will be visits to both indoor and outdoor locations during all seasons of the year.Many of the tasks are physical and the associate has to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. although the most frequent amount of weight lifted is 20 lbs. The associate is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, as well as balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.
