Responsible for adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices, to ensure the production of safe quality products.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Calibrate and maintain testing equipment in the labComplete pre-run startup checks to ensure materials, equipment, and products meet the specified requirementsPerform ATP and Allergen swab testing to release equipment post CIPInspect, test, and approve bulk ingredient shipments prior to unloadingInspect, test, and approve each batch of juice before releasing to processInspect, test, and approve finished product to ensure it meets the specified requirementsCollect and store finished product samples following specified guidelinesIncubate and plate finished product samples for micro testingMonitor product tempering for ingredients that require thawing before usePlace nonconforming materials and products on hold when identifiedEscalate food safety and quality issues to Quality Supervisor or Manager to ensure they are properly handledInspect product safety devices (screens and magnets) throughout the process to ensure ingredients and product is free of contaminantsComplete required Master Sanitation Scheduled Tasks throughout departmentEnsure all required documentation is complete and accurateHelp resolve food safety and quality issues on the production floorPractice, teach and enforce the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) established for QualityPractice and enforce all Safety policies and proceduresSupport team member safety by promoting safe work practices, monitoring compliance with policies, and minimizing physical hazards to promote an overall safe work environmentPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and SkillsHigh school diploma or GED, and 2 years work experience in a manufacturing environmentRead, write, speak, and comprehend EnglishComprehend basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, weights and measures, and efficient use of a calculatorBasic computer and data entry skillsPossess mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on manufacturing equipment.Ability to communicate both written and orally within the organizationAbility to give positive suggestions to improve operations in the work centerTeam Oriented - being helpful, respectful, approachable, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment, is responsible, honest, loyal, interacting with others tactfully, resolving conflicts appropriately, and adapting to changeAbility to manage time efficientlyAbility to work well under changing demandsFollow verbal and written instructionsMust have good work ethics, be highly motivated, and be a hands-on problem solverAbility to detect, recognize, and judge discrepanciesRequires accuracy, reliability, and attention to qualityPhysical DemandsVision, hearing, and speaking to meet performance standardsClimb ladder up to 10 feet off the ground using safety equipment providedAbility to stand and/or walk for long periods, reach, push, pull, lift, climb, stoop, squat, and use manual dexterity to work with the following tools: blending machines, scales, pallet jacks, drum dollies, mops, brooms, portable stairs, hoses, forklifts etc.Ability to safely lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis and move heavier weights using proper equipment and/or team lifting techniquesWork EnvironmentEmployees must be able to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment that may include exposure to odors, dust, moderate noise levels, and fluctuations in temperature and ventilation. Work environment may involve exposure to inclement weather.
