Travel Nurse RN - OR - Operating Room - $2,001 per week

Job Overview Fusion Medical Staffing seeks a travel nurse RN OR – Operating Room for a 13-week assignment in Plano, Texas. The role requires a 12-hour shift, 36 hours per week, starting ASAP. Compensation is based on a 12-hour shift schedule with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure. Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety according to procedural requirements. Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adhere to infection control protocols and sterile technique. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain efficient workflow. Monitor the patient’s condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon. Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring their proper use, sterilization, and disposal according to facility protocols. Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols, ensuring accurate diagnostic results. Document all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughly. Participate in patient handoff communication during pre- and post-operative phases, ensuring continuity of care. Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocols. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards. Follow hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and infection prevention measures. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Strong interpersonal communication skills and critical-thinking ability. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Basic PC skills. Preferred Qualifications ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certifications. OR Nursing Certification (CNOR).
