What This Job Can Offer You This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Global Payroll Country (or Regional) Lead, joining our Implementation team. What You Bring We’re looking for a GP Lead to own and deliver Italy payroll implementations for Remote customers—taking complex, real‑world setups and turning them into clean data, robust configurations, and reliable go‑lives. The role focuses on ensuring customers start on the right foundation: correct structure, rules, migrations, and expectations. You’ll lead onboarding projects, conduct deep due diligence, and work cross‑functionally with Operations, Product, and Engineering to continuously improve implementation delivery at scale. Proven, hands‑on experience implementing Zucchetti Paghe Infinity (mandatory): configuration, data imports/migrations, setup validation, go‑live support. 2+ years of Italy payroll experience, ideally in a consultancy/payroll bureau, outsourcer, or in‑house payroll function with exposure to implementations or subsidiary transitions. Strong understanding of payroll foundations that affect implementation success (e.g., progressivi, CU logic, Uniemens structure, year‑to‑date handling). Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, priorities, and timelines in a remote environment. Clear, structured communication: translate complexity into actionable steps for customers and internal teams. Experience with mid‑year transitions, parallel payroll, and complex onboarding scenarios. Strong working knowledge of high‑volume CCNLs (e.g., Commerce, Metalmeccanico). Experience in tech or high‑growth environments; comfortable collaborating with Product/Engineering. Professional English proficiency (written and spoken). Extensive payroll experience in a client payroll environment. Expert legislative knowledge in the relevant Country. Deep knowledge of local payroll tools and software tools like SAP and Excel/Google Sheets. Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities. Adaptability to a fast‑paced, international work environment. Experience in accounting/reconciliations. Productivity mindset with a drive to improve and speed up work. Comfort with asynchronous work. Key Responsibilities Act as a subject‑matter expert for the specified country/region. Manage data migration and validation, including mapping, consistency checks, and loading historical/progressive values. Plan and execute testing cycles, including parallel runs, and ensure reconciliation to acceptance criteria. Serve as the customer’s trusted point of contact during implementation, communicating complex topics clearly and pragmatically. Partner with internal teams to improve templates, tooling, documentation, and automation. Participate in sales hand‑over, client hand‑over, and client kick‑off calls. Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of global payroll implementation projects, ensuring timely delivery. Lead the process from inception through parallel runs and the first month of live payroll before handing over to Payroll Operations. Maintain a record of all decisions taken and ensure Payroll Operations have full visibility, including SOPs required for business‑as‑usual. Develop and maintain detailed project plans and timelines. Provide ongoing support during and after the implementation to resolve issues or challenges. Support the wider implementation team, including Payroll Generalists and ops teams. Focus on KPIs and SLAs. Mentor, support, and lead Implementation Specialists working alongside you.
