Komatsu is currently recruiting for a Field Service Technician to work at our Virginia, MN location. This position is represented by a union.

Field Service Technicians work with both Mechanical and Welding applications in field environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Travel to various sites to provide technical support and troubleshooting
• Provide detailed service reports and deliver excellent customer service
• Use of judgement to plan, perform and made decisions as the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
• Responsibility to prevent damaged due to mistakes or carelessness to equipment or materials.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Understands Welding and Cutting Applications including air arcing, and dual shield wire
• Continuous mental and visual attention; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity
• Clean tools, clean equipment, paint and grease equipment as needed
• Prevent loss which may result from negligent inspection or testing; from spoilage or wastage of raw or in process materials
• Will work with a higher Welder or Mechanic to learn to interpret blueprints, operate electrical power tools and pneumatic power tools as well as learning how to follow a scope of work
• Over 1 year up to and including 3 years mechanical experience and/or weld experience in a similar job, is a plus
• Ability to interpret and understand complicated drawings, specifications, charts and tables
• Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work
• Possession of or eligibility to obtain a CDL is required for this position.

Hiring Range:

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $$33.40-$44.60. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
