Job Summary

Provides educational and therapeutic interventions (coinciding with other treatment modalities) constructive and beneficial to patients' mental health. Manages materials. Oversees students. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity. Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values). Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients. Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.

Reports: Manager/Expressive Therapies (job code (JC): 120301)

Supervises: None. Oversees music therapy interns and practicum students.

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in music therapy (including coursework or an internship in a medical setting) from an American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) approved program

Preferred Education: Master's degree in music therapy (including coursework or an internship in a medical setting) from an American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) approved program.

Required Experience: None

Preferred Experience: One (1) year of professional experience in a medical setting.

Required Certification/License/Registry: Music Therapist--Board Certified (MT-BC) credential from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT)
