This is an ideal unit for new and experienced nurses. You will increase your critical thinking, clinical skills, and confidence in a supportive environment. What You’ll Do Care for patients with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), coronary artery disease (CAD), Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) and other disease processes Manage continuous infusions including but not limited to: Milrinone Amiodarone Dobutamine Insulin Perform comprehensive patient assessments and respond to clinical changes Monitor cardiac rhythms Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high quality care Gain an understanding of how cardiology interconnects with other body systems Care for patients requiring oxygen therapy utilizing High Flow Nasal Cannula or BiPAP Educate patients on heart health, medications, and lifestyle modifications Gain knowledge of managing post-cardiac interventions such as pacemaker, lifeVest, and automated implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (AICD) placement What We’re Looking For Licensed Registered Nurse or New Graduate nurse eligible for licensure Strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced clinical environment Passion for cardiac care and patient impact Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively Why This Unit Build essential cardiac and clinical expertise Supportive team and mentorship Winner of Best Hospital Unit in 2025 and 2026 Opportunity to make a difference in every patient’s life Become part of a team that puts heart into patient care Responsibilities The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care. Qualifications Education Graduate from a nursing program Required Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Work Experience No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Required Licenses and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License. Required and BCLS - Basic Life Support Required Additional Licenses and Certifications Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum) Addendum Cardiac Tele: Additional Required Certifications: ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days Required Critical Care: Additional Required Certifications: ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days Required Dialysis: Additional Required Certifications: CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) preferred Preferred Emergency Department: Additional Required Certifications: ACLS and PALS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 6 months to obtain the PALS certification. within 180 Days Required Infusion/Oncology: Additional Required Certifications: Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification – prior to independent chemotherapy administration Upon Hire Required Pediatrics: Identifies, reports and provides appropriate protective measures for high risk situations including, but not limited to, abuse or neglect, failure to thrive and potential for abduction.
