The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Wayland that are seeking skilled Shipping & Receiving Clerks. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Verify and record incoming shipments against purchase orders for accuracy.
- Prepare and package outgoing products for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely to move materials within the warehouse.
- Maintain organized inventory in the warehouse, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
- Coordinate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely material flow.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage or defects.
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required shipping documents.
Recommended Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years experience in shipping/receiving within a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in using ERP/MRP systems for inventory management and transaction processing
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and physical inventory
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physical tasks throughout the shift
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience operating a forklift, particularly in tight manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for inventory management.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, scales).
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
