The Registered Nurse provides individualized care primarily for medical and telemetry patients with a co-occurring Substance Use Disorder (SUD).\n Essential Duties and Responsibilities:\n · Provide safe and comprehensive care to patient at various points in recovery\n · Act as patient advocate\n · Administer medications as ordered\n · Monitor patient condition and provide appropriate interventions when necessary\n · Contribute to building and maintaining a team oriented environment\n · Encourage patient success and help to foster an environment of recovery\n · Help facilitate safe discharge plans including aftercare when appropriate\n · Effectively delegate to and supervise support staff\n \n · Perform other duties as required\n All of our nurses at Middlesex have access to professional development opportunities, the ability to participate in a clinical ladder, and shared governance while working to provide the safest, highest-quality care to our patients.\n Minimum Qualifications:\n \n \n Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing\n \n Current and unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut or the ability to obtain.\n \n Possess the knowledge and skills necessary to assess health needs of patients and to perform nursing care in a safe, caring manner\n \n Preferred Qualifications:\n \n \n One year of acute care nursing experience\n \n BSN or ADN/ASN and actively enrolled in a BSN program\n \n Experience with substance abuse\n \n Epic experience\n \n
