About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required in the last 5 years. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BLS required. ACLS preferred. Must-Have: - Experience with heparin drips, PCA, colostomy care, feeding tube care and management, blood product administration, central line management, and peripheral line management. - Experience with phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts, management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, and non-invasive airway management. - Knowledge of isolation precautions, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, surgical drains, chest tubes, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, tracheostomy management, and wound care. - Epic documentation experience required. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly lead to a cancelation. Traveler experience is accepted for first-time travelers. Floating to similar units and alternate care locations may be required. Traveler will be assigned to every other weekend. Contract staff may be required to report to work during catastrophic events or disasters. Target patient ratios are 1:5-6, and candidates must be comfortable with these ratios. Patient diagnoses include severe injuries to bones, joints, and soft tissue, as well as traumatic brain injuries and spine injuries. Unit systems include Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to the start for this specialty. Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility as needed. Pre-start modules are non-billable and time spent on them should be tracked separately from orientation hours. Candidates are required to work 2 of 3 major holidays. No RTO is allowed during the first week, and all RTO must be pre-approved. References can be pending at the time of submission. Candidates must complete all required testing within 48 hours after signing.
