Key Qualifications:

• Experience working as a Special Education Teacher in a high school environment is highly valued
• Resourceful in supporting a diverse student caseload (approximately 14–20 students)
• Knowledgeable in Michigan's educational system; Michigan Special Education Certification strongly preferred
• Proficient in academic intervention, social-emotional support, and behavior management strategies
• Effective communicator with students, colleagues, and families
• Organized and adaptable in a dynamic school environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted academic assistance to students in 9th grade or 10th–12th grade as assigned
• Foster a supportive resource room atmosphere that addresses varied learning needs
• Implement social-emotional learning supports and tailored behavior interventions
• Collaborate with general education staff to integrate accommodations and modifications
• Monitor progress and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with IEPs and state requirements
• Cultivate positive relationships that encourage student growth, resilience, and independence
