Database Architect

We need a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Architect/Modeler to join our team as we migrate our insurance application to a cloud-based Guidewire platform. This platform will support millions of users, and we require a leader who can set database standards, ensure best practices, and support scalability, maintainability, and performance across the system. This role combines responsibilities of Database Administration (DBA) and Data Modeling, requiring expertise in both 3NF normalization and dimensional modeling. The person will work closely with over 200 software data engineers to ensure consistency in database design and implementation, troubleshoot performance issues, and support the migration to production environments. Key Responsibilities: Database Standards & Best Practices: Establish and enforce database design standards to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability across the platform. Development Support: Lead database-related aspects of development on the Guidewire platform, ensuring high availability, low latency, and scalability. Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve database performance issues to handle millions of users effectively. Collaboration with Engineers: Work closely with software data engineers to ensure adherence to database standards during development and migration. Data Modeling: Design and implement models using 3NF normalization and dimensional modeling techniques. Cloud Database Expertise: Work with cloud databases such as Aurora PostgreSQL and analytical platforms like Snowflake. Production Support: Provide hands-on support during production outages, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system stability. Experience: - 10+ years in database architecture, modeling, and administration. - Led 3+ large-scale database projects covering key responsibilities. - Extensive experience with 3NF normalization (dozens of projects) and at least 2 projects in dimensional modeling. - Hands-on experience with Aurora PostgreSQL and Snowflake. - Proven ability to work with large engineering teams in fast-paced environments. Technical Skills: - Strong knowledge of relational databases, cloud databases, and data modeling concepts. - Familiarity with ETL development and data integration processes. - Experience with modeling tools like Erwin. - Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog. - Experience with SaaS platforms like Guidewire is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr TechDigital Group
