Your Day-to-Day as a Heavy Duty Mechanic: Technical Responsibilities Perform routine daily maintenance on mobile equipment to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and compliance with environmental policies. Install, maintain, inspect, and repair a variety of Mobile equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures and issues. Collaborate with other trades in a team environment to enhance safety, efficiency, quality, and production. Shutdown and Strategic Capital Projects Provide assistance and expertise for projects, including planning as needed. Work together with Drax staff to ensure safety, efficiency, quality, and timely project execution. Mentorship and Leadership for Maintenance Staff Advocate for the Drax Zero Harm, actively contributing to a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to standards and procedures and complying with legislation and regulations. What you’ll bring Red Seal Certified Trades Professional Designation Over 5 years of progressive experience in heavy industry Completed a journeyman apprenticeship in the trade Knowledgeable in various maintenance practices Skilled in building rapport and fostering working relationships with key stakeholders, using a collaborative and supportive approach to achieve goals Strong written and verbal communication skills Confident in challenging the status quo and influencing as necessary Self-motivated and decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and manage competing demands Effective problem solver with the capability to identify and implement resolutions Willing and able to work a flexible schedule as needed, including on-call support for the Plant Management Team.
