Nuclear Software Engineering Manager

Salary: $137,838 - 229,729 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, or a closely related field from an accredited university or college.
• We typically look for about ten years of engineering experience; advanced degrees may count for two or more additional years of experience.
• We need experience with analysis software verification and validation (V&V).
• We require experience using or developing analysis software within a highly regulated quality assurance environment, such as nuclear systems design, nuclear safety analysis, flight control software, safety-related industrial controls, or similar plant control software applications.

• We support the delivery of internally developed analysis software and related services for engineers, including installation files, documentation, testing, and user assistance.
• We prepare and maintain verification and validation (V&V) documentation and commercial grade dedication (CGD) packages for relevant analysis software.
• We control and maintain analysis software in alignment with our Quality Assurance program and applicable standards, including NQA-1.
• We assist project managers and team leads with the development of analysis software.
• We help execute project plans across assigned areas.
• We partner with managers to ensure adequate staffing, resourcing, and recruitment for software support services.
• We collaborate with team members to confirm that validation addresses the design requirements needed for full code qualification.
• We work with managers to align requirements across stakeholders.
• We serve as the single point of contact for software services contractors.
• We oversee contractor performance, acceptance, and quality assurance of deliverables.
• We manage the implementation and periodic updating of our Quality Assurance Program software procedures.
• We maintain a professional demeanor in all forms of communication.
• We perform additional duties as assigned by our manager.

We are X-energy LLC, a company focused on developing a state-of-the-art engineering analysis software toolkit that supports the design and licensing of next-generation nuclear power reactors. This full-time, exempt role is based in Rockville, Maryland, with an expectation of 4 to 5 days in the office and up to 10% travel as needed. Standard working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm ET, Monday through Friday.
