Pay Range: Targeted salary up to $24.54 per hour, based on experience Benefits Eligible: Yes Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Travel: Not required Position Introduction: Join the Carl Albert Center at the University of Oklahoma as the Project Coordinator for a two-year project funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. The project, Constitutional Foundations Archive, will digitize and make available over 30,000 previously inaccessible documents, photographs, personal papers, and audio files that illustrate the establishment and expansion of federal institutions, state constitutional development, and the evolution of congressional representation in America. Our project will focus on Oklahoma Statehood, the Oklahoma Constitution, attempts to amend the U.S. Constitution and important legislation. This position will implement the work plan created by the PI and Co-PI, supervise undergraduate hourly and graduate student workers, coordinate activities related to the project, establish, and maintain on-going reporting process. The ideal candidate will have a masters degree in library or archives science and have experience implementing large archival projects. Duties: Provides metadata creation and management support for a grant-funded special collections projects. Collects, compiles, and delivers information and data for statistical and narrative reports. Supervise undergraduate and graduate student workers. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree. 24 months of project management or related experience. Equivalency/Substitution : Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience. Required Certifications and Licenses: None Department Preferences: Education: MLS from an ALA-accredited library school or an advanced related degree. Experience: 24 months of related experience in archival arrangement and/or records management. Current museum, archive or library experience. Experience in an archives or special collections department in a research library or similar setting. Experience supervising and/or mentoring students and other employees. Experience with digitizing archival objects using scanning equipment and image editing software to create accessible digital surrogates. Experience with systems and software designed to provide public access to born-digital or digital surrogate materials. Experience with AWS or other cloud-based servers designed to store and allow public access to materials. Experience with Omeka or other software used to create digital exhibits for archival materials. Experience with archival collections management tools such as ArchivesSpace. Experience with XSLT, Xpath, Xquery and one or more general scripting languages such as Python, Bash or Perl. Experience with MODS. Experience implementing MPLP-influenced or Accessioning-As-Processing workflows. Knowledge of automated storage and retrieval systems, and electronic records. Knowledge of strategies developed or adopted by the archival community. Knowledge of relevant standards for archival description and preservation including DACS, EAD, and PREMIS, and familiarity with other metadata standards. Skills: Strong ability to lead project teams.
