Job Title: RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Medical / Surgical / Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification, CPI/MOAB Must-Have: EPIC EMR Experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months Basic Dysrhythmia test must be passed in the first week of assignment Description: Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. The basic dysrhythmia test will be administered in the first week of the assignment. Passing this test is necessary to work on the telemetry/med-surg unit. Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The care is coordinated with other health team members. Effectively interacts with patients, their significant others, and other health team members. Maintains high standards of professional nursing. Provides high-quality care to the following patient populations: geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry. Positions are available on medical surgical and telemetry units. Estimated workweek is 36 hours. Floating may be required to other campuses at times. While the traveler will not be part of a regular call rotation, they may occasionally be placed on call during low census periods. If called in, the traveler is expected to respond and arrive on-site within one hour. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Med/Surg ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. ACU required every other weekend rotation. Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips. A basic dysrhythmia test out will be given in the first week of assignment, which must be passed. Floating is required for any non-critical care inpatient units including emergency departments if there are boarded patients. If the traveler has critical care experience, they may occasionally float to critical care units.
