Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Cardiovascular Medical/Surgical position in a teaching hospital, requiring a compact or KS RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiovascular Medical/Surgical Neurovascular/Renal unit within a teaching hospital
• 38-bed unit with telemetry and remote monitoring
• Shift is 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• No drip titrations required
• Lab staff collects blood specimens; RNs will start IVs with IV team support available
• No EKGs or sheath discontinuation tasks required
• Use of Cerner OneChart EMR
• Possible floating between three hospitals and one rehabilitation hospital
• Ceil blue scrubs required
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with IV team and lab support
• Travelers may be required to float among multiple facilities
• COVID vaccination is not required
• Local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate depending on radius rules
• Must provide two professional references for consideration

Requirements

• Active KS or compact state RN license required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Nursys license verification within 30 days prior to start date
• Primary source license verification required within 30 days prior to assignment
• NIH Stroke Scale and MOAB moderate risk training recommended
• Must have a US Social Security Number and US home address
• Must provide a copy of Driver’s License
