Landscaping Foreman

Arete Landscapes is a landscape installation company based in Mountain Green, Utah, running residential and commercial new‑construction projects across the state. We don't do maintenance, we build. Sod, irrigation, planting, rock, mulch, grading, erosion control, and hardscape on projects ranging from custom residential yards to large commercial and municipal parks. We're hiring a Construction Foreman to lead one of our crews. You'll be the person on site who owns the job: reading the plans, directing the crew, running the equipment, talking to the client or GC, and making sure the work gets done right, on schedule, and without someone from the office standing over your shoulder. Responsibilities Lead a 3–5 person installation crew on residential and commercial landscape projects from mobilization to final walkthrough Read and interpret landscape, irrigation, and civil plans; lay out work in the field and catch conflicts before they become problems Manage daily production against the job schedule and budgeted hours; communicate progress and issues to the estimator/owner Operate skid steers, mini excavators, and other equipment safely and efficiently; oversee equipment maintenance and pre‑trip inspections Install irrigation systems (mainline, laterals, valves, heads, drip, controllers) and troubleshoot in the field Direct planting, sod, gravel/mulch, fabric, grading, and erosion control work to spec and to Arete quality standards Verify material deliveries against takeoffs; flag shortages, substitutions, or plan discrepancies early Coordinate with GCs, superintendents, inspectors, and homeowners on active sites Enforce jobsite safety, keep the site clean, and represent the company professionally Track crew hours, document daily work, and complete job paperwork accurately Travel to project sites across northern Utah, with occasional multi‑day work in southern Utah (per diem/lodging provided for out‑of‑area projects) Qualifications 5+ years of landscape construction/installation experience, with at least 1 year leading a crew Working knowledge of irrigation installation and troubleshooting Experience operating mini excavators, skid steers and compact equipment Valid driver's license with a clean record; able to tow trailers with a 3/4‑ton or 1‑ton truck Able to work outdoors in all conditions and lift 75+ lbs regularly Reliable, punctual, and able to run a job without constant supervision Preferred but not required: Ability to read landscape and irrigation plans Experience on commercial/municipal projects (submittals, inspections, working with GCs) Knowledge of Utah‑appropriate plant material and planting standards Grading and drainage experience CDL or ability to obtain one Bilingual English/Spanish Additional Information Competitive hourly pay or salary, DOE Company truck/equipment for work use Year‑round work potential on the right projects Room to grow with a company that's expanding This is not an entry level position, if you don't have recent landscaping construction experience do not apply. #J-18808-Ljbffr
