Rate Regulation Branch – Rate Filing Bureau – Los Angeles III Job Description and Duties Under the direction of the Rate Regulation Branch Division Chief, the Supervising Insurance Rate Analyst plans, assigns, and directs staff in the review and evaluation of data upon which insurance rates are based. Major responsibilities include: Analyzing rates, rating plans, and rating systems of various rating organizations and insurers. Supervising staff and overseeing the quality of their work. Participating in negotiations and hearings on rates. Serving as a technical consultant to the Insurance Commissioner at negotiations and hearings. Meeting and corresponding with insurers and insurer representatives. Representing the State of California in governmental decisions potentially affecting personal financial interests while complying with the Conflict of Interest Code. This position requires completion of a Statement of Economic Interest, including an Assuming Office filing within 30 days of appointment, annual filings, and a Leaving Office filing within 30 days of separation.
