Cashier 1Operates cash register to itemize and total customers purchases in gas, deli, grocery, beer, liquor, tobacco, lottery, scratch offs, money orders, Western union, Cat scale or other retail items by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Collect cash, check, or charge payment from customer, make change for cash transactionsCounts money in cash drawer at beginning and end of work shift to ensure money balances with salesRecords daily transaction amounts from cash register to balance drawerBags merchandise, issues receipts, and redeems promotional couponsReview price sheets to note price accuracy and changes on gas, deli, beer, liquor, or tobacco and all sale itemsRecords prices and departments in an accurate manner on the register to ensure taxable items and totals are correctStock and clean shelves, and mark prices on itemsUse the register to swipe all identification to sell tobacco, beer, liquor and lottery tickets to ensure of legal age to purchasePromote and ensure customer satisfaction on all purchasesGreet all customers as they enter the storeCompetencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competenciesProblem Solving- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
