Facilities Support Specialist (Part-Time) 81 Oaks Senior Living – Sarasota, FL Full-Time | Hourly | Onsite 81 Oaks Senior Living is a warm, vibrant assisted living and memory care community committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming home for our residents. We are seeking a patient, service-oriented, and highly dependable Facilities Support Specialist to support day-to-day facility operations, resident technology needs, and general upkeep of our community. This is a highly resident-facing role that blends light maintenance, general caretaking, and basic technology support, requiring strong problem-solving skills, a calm demeanor, and a genuine enjoyment of working with older adults. Overview The Facilities Support Specialist plays a key role in maintaining the physical environment of the community while providing courteous, respectful support to residents with day-to-day needs. This role attends to resident apartments, common areas, and grounds, and serves as a first point of contact for basic resident technology issues, coordinating with third-party IT providers as needed. Key Responsibilities Resident Support & Customer Service Interact with residents daily with patience, professionalism, and kindness. Enter resident apartments respectfully to address maintenance or technology needs. Communicate clearly and calmly with residents, family members, and team members. Represent the community with a service-oriented, resident-first mindset. Facilities, Maintenance & General Upkeep Perform general caretaking and light maintenance duties including vacuuming, sweeping, light housekeeping, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpet installation/cleaning, furniture moving, apartment turnovers, lawn care, and groundskeeping. Operate a golf cart as needed. Technology & Systems Support Assist residents with basic technology needs, including TVs, streaming services, remotes, computers, and WiFi connectivity. Serve as onsite support in coordination with third-party IT providers. Perform basic troubleshooting and assist with vendor-directed fixes as needed. Safety & Communication Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Follow all community safety procedures and emergency protocols. Maintain tools and work areas in a clean and organized manner. Schedule & Availability Part-time, hourly Weekdays and weekends Occasional on-call availability Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent 12 years maintenance or facilities experience preferred Basic technology troubleshooting skills Strong problem-solving abilities Exceptional patience and interpersonal skills Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work indoors/outdoors Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation Additional Requirements Criminal background screening required Must meet all health and employment requirements Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening.
