Our organization is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Program located in Sacramento, California.

This full-time position comprises 0.5 FTE dedicated to program leadership and 0.5 FTE allocated for clinical practice, either in general pediatrics or a pediatric subspecialty. This is a unique chance to lead, innovate, and develop a burgeoning academic program while remaining actively involved in clinical care.

As the Program Director, your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all aspects of the Pediatric Residency Program.

• Ensuring adherence to standards set by the ABP, ACGME, and institutional guidelines.

• Leading strategic initiatives for resident recruitment, education, and retention.

• Cultivating a culture of excellence in teaching, mentorship, and patient care.

• Managing clinical training experiences in both outpatient and inpatient environments.

• Collaborating closely with faculty, hospital leadership, and Graduate Medical Education (GME) administration.

In this pivotal leadership role, you will significantly influence the future pediatric workforce while providing high-quality clinical care alongside residents and faculty.

Qualifications:

• Proven educational and administrative experience recognized by the ACGME Pediatrics Review Committee.

• Active involvement in patient clinical care.

• Understanding of healthcare delivery, administration, and the legal and ethical issues surrounding healthcare.

• Ability to adopt a team-oriented approach to management, soliciting input from relevant departments and communicating essential information effectively.

• Skill in being persuasive and diplomatic to foster teamwork and cooperation aimed at achieving service excellence.

• Strong communication skills, demonstrating sound judgment and responsibility.

• Exceptional interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal, with a knack for building constructive relationships across diverse backgrounds.

• Capability to manage challenging or confrontational situations calmly and fairly.

• Experience in supervising and delegating tasks effectively.

• Proficiency in presenting information and addressing inquiries from various stakeholders.

• Aptitude for reading, analyzing, and interpreting business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

• Ability to represent the program's interests within the community, fostering effective relationships among public, private, and professional entities.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

• Current medical license in California and Board Certification in Pediatrics.

• As required for relevant clinical privileges.
