Prep LaborerThe prep laborer role involves grinding down welds and preparing them for paint. This includes sanding and grinding sheet metal, washing it, and racking parts to go on the paint line. This position offers the opportunity to advance into an industrial painter role over time.ResponsibilitiesGrind down welds and prepare them for painting.Sand and grind sheet metal effectively.Wash sheet metal parts and prepare them for the paint line.Rack parts to go on the paint line.Ensure materials are completely ready for painting with attention to detail.Essential Skills1+ year of manufacturing experience, preferably in paint line prepping or racking.Experience with sanding, prepping, racking, and grinding.Capability to lift 30-50 lbs regularly.Good working knowledge of respirator use and being fitted for one.Ability to maintain attention to detail in preparing metal for painting.Additional Skills & QualificationsComfortable working in environments with dust and paint.Experience with general labor tasks like deburring and cleaning.Why Work Here?Enjoy a signing bonus of $1000 after 90 days and another $1000 after one year as a permanent employee. Employees work in the paint area and are required to complete a respirator fitting test and wear a respirator while on the line. The facility operates on a 1st shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, 6am to 4:30pm. There is also an optional 2nd shift from Monday to Thursday, 4:00pm to 2:30am, with occasional Friday overtime.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of BLAINE, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
