Maintenance Team Lead (2nd Shift)

As a Maintenance Team Leader, you will hold an important role in the Kings Mountain Operations facility. You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and support the long‑term success of the Volvo Group and KMO by providing leadership. In addition, you will support the short‑ and mid‑term activities for your function and the plant to meet maintenance objectives. You will be responsible for safety, quality, delivery, continuous improvement, environment, people development and cost of the maintenance process, as well as cascading and involving your team members in the business objectives. Main activities and responsibilities for these roles: Lead a team of maintenance technicians to complete work orders during planned production downtime. When necessary, support reactive maintenance activities handed down from previous production shift and work directly with your team to correct issues primarily on MIG and resistance spot welding equipment, robotics, and hydraulics. Complete standard shift reports daily and coach the maintenance team on completion of data capture for equipment breakdown events. Lead your Maintenance team against set safety, quality, delivery, and financial targets by leading and coaching your maintenance team. Continue the implementation of Volvo Production System (VPS), implementing standardized ways of working, developing the organization, and achieving contribution from all employees. Full accountability and ownership of your team’s development, employee relations, project follow‑up, mid‑term roadmap (0‑1 year) and policy deployment from plant to operator level. Participate in the development of departmental objectives and targets, ensuring they are clearly formulated and motivated to achieve the Kings Mountain Operations business objectives and strategy. Ensure the availability of skilled resources and create a motivating environment to consistently improve upon the performance of the department and readily adapt to evolving demands. Education and Experience: Five (5) years minimum combined maintenance leadership and technical experience within a manufacturing environment. Preferred Experience: Associate’s Degree preferred.
