Medical Coding Specialist

Job Details Job Location: Mount Vernon, WA 98273 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $34.00 - $39.00 Hourly Job Shift: Day Job Summary Under general supervision, this position will be responsible for coding for a busy radiology practice with multiple reading locations. This position will ensure that every exam is coded accurately and in a timely manner. Proficiency and accuracy in coding ICD-10 and CPT codes are a must. This position requires attention to detail, analysis and research. Qualifications Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Coding Certification (CPC) required. 3+ years’ experience working in medical coding preferred. RadPayor, MedInformatics, and Waystar experience a plus. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work alone as well as on a team Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications Ability to sit and keyboard/work on the phone for up to 8 hours in a day Independent and self-directed Problem-solves with creativity and ingenuity Organizes, prioritizes, and coordinates multiple activities and tasks Produces work in high quantity and quality Data Entry ICD-10 & CPT codes HIPAA compliant Maintain accuracy of 5% or less error rate Code 500 +/- reports per day Other duties as assigned. Most work is remote. In home work office or on-site for periodic meetings.
