Marine Electrician (Entry-Level) - Charleston, SC

Serco is hiring an Entry Marine Electrician to support U.S. Naval Ships. The role involves electrical work onboard ships, performing troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance tasks, and ensuring safe operations. Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting and correct malfunctions. Conduct various tests or experiments, possibly requiring minor modifications in test setups or procedures, and operate standard test equipment while recording data. Perform electrical work on ships, boats, and marine equipment. Repair electrical wiring, restore connections for ship engines and navigation systems, and secure work areas aboard vessels to avoid electrical shock. Gather and maintain specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.; perform computations by substituting numbers in formulas; plot data and draw simple curves and graphs. Perform routine tasks or tests such as tensile or hardness tests; operate and adjust simple test equipment; record test data. Qualifications Active Interim Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoW Secret clearance. This position requires U.S. citizenship and admission to shipyards under a U.S. Government Contract. High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year direct experience with electrical work on ships, boats, and marine equipment. Familiarity with NAVSEA practices and procedures in electrical repair, fabrication, and installation. Ability to work in high-heat spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, kneel for cable run layout under false decking, lift up to 50 pounds, and pull up to 40 pounds while standing, crouching, or walking. Attention to safety, including respirator qualification and wearing proper PPE throughout the work shift. Willingness to travel up to 10%. Ability to work onsite in Charleston, SC.
