Head of Content Operations, VP I - State Street Investment Management

State Street Investment Management is seeking a Head of Content Operations (VP) to help ensure our content is delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with regulatory, brand, and editorial standards. In this role, you’ll focus on the operational backbone of content—how it is planned, created, reviewed, approved, published, maintained, and governed across digital and client-facing channels.You’ll partner closely with content, design, marketing, compliance, digital, and analytics teams to enable scalable, well-governed content delivery in a highly regulated yet agile environment. This is a hands-on, execution-oriented role centered on content governance, workflow design, taxonomy, operational agility, content UX enablement, and platform alignment—not content strategy or creative direction.This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to complex workflows, and who takes pride in making content systems and processes work better for everyone involved.ResponsibilitiesContent GovernanceMaintain and apply content governance standards, including workflows, approval requirements, and documentationEmbed compliance and risk controls into content workflows, templates, and systems to reduce rework and riskPartner with Legal and Compliance teams to improve review efficiency while maintaining required controlsContent Workflow and Lifecycle ManagementOwn content workflows from intake and prioritization through creation, review, approval, publishing, updates, and archivingStandardize processes across content types and channels to improve consistency, speed, and transparencyTrack content demand, timelines, dependencies and capacity across teams and regionsIdentify bottlenecks and implement practical process improvementsContent Production and Delivery SupportSupport high-volume content delivery across web, insights, campaigns, and client communicationsManage editorial calendars and production schedules in partnership with content and marketing teamsEnsure always-on content remains accurate, compliant, and up to dateCoordinate with external agencies or vendors as neededContent Platforms and TaxonomyPartner with platform owners and marketing teams to ensure workflows, templates, DAM, and publishing practices support scalable, compliant, optimal content deliveryAct as the content operations point of contact for Digital Asset Management (DAM) standards, metadata expectations, and lifecycle practicesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve and align workflows across AEM, Workfront, and Smartsheet, supporting intake, tracking, review, and delivery processesProvide content-specific requirements and feedback to inform system enhancements, workflow tooling, and usability improvementsSupport the design and consistent application of taxonomy, metadata, naming conventions, and publishing standards to improve content findability, reuse, and governanceMeasurement and Continuous ImprovementUse data and feedback to inform workflow, tooling, and process improvementsStay current on content operations best practices and emerging capabilities, including automation and AI-enabled workflow supportWhat We’re Looking For7–10 years of experience in content operations, marketing operations, or digital content managementExperience working in regulated environments, ideally financial services or asset managementHands-on experience with enterprise CMS and DAM platforms (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager)Strong understanding of content governance, review processes, and compliance considerationsExperience supporting workflow modernization or content operations improvement initiatives, especially through the use of automation and/or AIKnowledge of taxonomy, metadata, and content lifecycle managementFamiliarity with tools such as Workfront and Smartsheet for project intake, tracking, and workflow managementExposure to automation or AI-enabled content workflowsStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams in a matrixed environmentFamiliarity with content UX best practicesWhy Join UsAt State Street, the content and thought leadership team plays a critical role in supporting credibility, client trust, and commercial priorities.
