Safety Manager

Overview The Safety Manager (SM) is the manager responsible for the safety and well-being of RA Holdings employees working out of a specific office. The SM provides administrative safety guidance to the Regional Directors from the branch and provides training and support to branch employees. Reporting Relationships The RA Holdings Safety Director (RAHSD) is the direct supervisor of the SM. Although the SM provides support to both Regional Directors and project/operations managers, the SM does not take direction from them, nor does the SM have the authority to provide direction to them or their subordinates. The SM does have the authority to stop work operations if there is an imminent threat to health or life. A SM is expected to work with all operations personnel. Job Responsibilities Assist in the planning, implementation, and managing of the RA Holdings Safety Program. Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective actions, and implement follow up measures. Conducts and documents accident, incident and near‑miss investigations and provides reports to the RAHSD and branch officers and managers. Administers the injury management policies, as the primary contact for impacted employees from the office assigned. Maintains credentials to provide safety training to RAH employees. Delivers safety and health training as needed. Assists the RAHSD in training for other offices as needed. Provides project management and operations teams with guidance on health and safety and ensures that RAH operations comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with RAHSD and other Safety managers to implement an accident or incident response and serves. Serves as the primary company representative during contract or regulatory safety inspections. Maintains a written log of safety inspections. Participates in association and industry safety committees and conferences and maintains proficiency in industry and regulatory safety requirements. Manages accidents involving company vehicles. Works with the RAHSD to report accidents. Conducts safety orientations and employee safety handbook training for new employees. Understands and complies with the requirements of company IT and cybersecurity policies. Provides weekly tailgate safety meetings and confirms that the crews are holding and documenting these meetings. Attends operations meetings for the division's operating out of the assigned office location. Maintains and posts the panel of physicians in each office location. Ensures medical offices used by the assigned branch have the current RAH medical protocol. Assists the RAHSD in the periodic review and update of all RAH Safety SOPs. Other duties as assigned. Requirements 5+ years of safety experience within a construction or industrial environment. 1st AID/CPR Trainer. Active OSHA 500 is preferred. Willing to travel to various job sites throughout the Hampton Roads area. #J-18808-Ljbffr
