Medical AssistantValley Medical Group is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our Family Practice team and work in our Northampton Health Center. Exclusions apply for internal applicants or employees who have left VMG within the previous year.Position: Medical AssistantLocation: Northampton MAHours: 32 hours, 4 days/week, Monday-Friday generally between 8:00am – 5:30pm, with one 9:00am-6:00pm shift, plus an occasional morning weekend shift for urgent care rotation. Hours may vary depending on department needs. Exact schedule to be discussed at time of interview.Medical Assistants will work under the supervision of the Nurse Team Leader, and function as a member of the health care team in the delivery of high-quality service. MAs will assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management.Job Responsibilities:Prepare patients for their visit by obtaining vitals, patient history, medication reconciliation and reviewing allergiesAssist with procedures and point-of-care testingOrdering necessary tests required for the visit to ensure satisfaction of the QM Tab measures.Document encounters in the Electronic Medical Record (Athena)Required Qualifications:Medical Assisting program certificate, EMT license, or CNA licenseCurrent CPR certificationEMR experience (Athena preferred)Experience working as a Medical Assistant, EMT, or CNAAdditional Preferred Qualifications:CMA or RMA certification strongly preferredProof of completion of an ABHES or CAAHEP accredited Medical Assisting program preferredExperience administering vaccinesIf you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications, we strongly encourage you to apply and/or inquire.
