An MDVIP Receptionist or Medical Assistant (MA) combines front-desk administrative support and back-office clinical care in a personalized, concierge-style medical practice.

Front Office & Reception Duties

• Patient Greeting: Welcome patients warmly in person and over the phone to provide a high-touch experience.
• Scheduling: Manage appointments, including scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling visits.
• Administrative Tasks: Verify patient insurance and demographics, answer inbound calls, and collect co-payments or account balances.
• Record Keeping: Enter charges, process payments, and balance daily logs in the computer system.

Clinical & Medical Assistant Duties

• Patient Intake: Record vital signs, medical history, and physical data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) system. Athena experience preferred
• Clinical Support: Assist the physician during exams, treatments, and procedures (such as EKG, spirometry, injections, or immunizations).
• Lab Work: Perform phlebotomy (blood draws), specimen collection, and sample labeling. [1]
• Patient Care Coordination: Assist with advanced wellness testing, coordinate prescription refills, and follow up personally with patients.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
• Experience: Generally 2 years of experience in a primary medical practice setting combining front and back office tasks.
• Skills: Recent phlebotomy experience preferred. Needs strong familiarity with EMR/EHR software, and adherence to HIPAA and OSHA rules.
