You do the opposite. You know a six-year-old can accomplish far more than traditional classrooms demand, and you have used data to demonstrate this repeatedly. Alpha operates on a two-hour learning structure. Adaptive software handles morning academics, freeing your schedule for the work that truly transforms a child's trajectory: coaching, life skills, motivation, and accountability. You directly own a cohort of K-3 learners while simultaneously coaching the Guides (Alpha's term for the adults who inspire and coach the children) who drive their daily growth. You remain hands-on each day, never managing remotely from an office. Your typical day alternates among three core activities. You review performance metrics and Coachbot analytics to identify which students and Guides need intervention. You conduct coaching conversations that leave people with concrete next steps rather than vague affirmation. And you command the focus of a room filled with five-to-nine-year-olds during workshops on topics like public speaking, concentration, or feedback exchange. When you identify effective approaches, you document them. The playbooks you create set the standard that every other Guide implements, expanding your influence from a single cohort to the entire level. What You Will Be Doing Coaching both Guides and students through performance metrics, classroom observation, and direct feedback, then maintaining accountability to measurable benchmarks Leading one-hour live workshops for K-3 students covering life skills including public speaking, concentration, teamwork, resilience, accountability, and feedback exchange Conducting individual and small-group motivational sessions that link each child's personal goals and interests to tangible academic outcomes Creating and iterating on playbooks that convert your most effective methods into replicable systems other Guides can implement reliably Training Guides on these playbooks and demonstrating exemplary facilitation so quality standards remain consistent as the team expands What You Won’t Be Doing Providing academic instruction or lecturing at the front of a classroom; adaptive software delivers content while you coach people Reducing expectations when students encounter difficulty Managing from a distance like traditional instructional coaches or principals; you remain embedded daily with your cohort Overseeing the campus's full budget, operations, and parent relations; a Campus Lead handles those responsibilities so you focus on student and Guide results Supporting traditional teaching approaches or implementing a conventional K-12 curriculum Executive Coach Key Responsibilities Fulfill Alpha's three commitments to every K-3 student: they love school, learn twice as fast, and develop exceptional life skills and independence. Basic Requirements Available to work in person at an Alpha campus in Austin, TX or Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ; relocation assistance is provided Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, Child Development, or related discipline Minimum 5 years of experience working with elementary-aged children (approximately ages 5 to 9) Proven experience leading a team of 5 or more individuals, with authority to hire and remove personnel based on performance results Demonstrated experience building, launching, or substantially expanding a program, team, school, or initiative from inception, not taking over an established operation Prepared to work in a school environment that rejects traditional teaching methodologies Legally authorized to work in the United States Nice-to-have Requirements Master's degree in a relevant discipline Proven ability using metrics, dashboards, or analytics to identify issues and produce measurable gains Track record coaching or managing other adults to achieve measurable results, beyond executing tasks personally Experience in youth development, camp leadership, competitive coaching, tutoring, or enrichment settings where motivation was a primary focus Demonstrated confidence and ability facilitating or presenting to rooms filled with young children About Alpha Alpha reimagines the school day around faster learning, stronger mentorship, and more time for students to build real-world skills.
