Career Area Operations Job Summary Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician at our East Peoria, IL (Undercarriage Building BB) facility. Pay starts at $37.67 plus $1.00 per hour shift differential (for 3rd shift). This full-time position offers benefits including health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, 401K, etc. We offer a $5,000 retention bonus for this role. The bonus is paid in two installments of $2,500 at the end of each calendar quarter. New hires are eligible for the first installment at the end of the quarter in which they start. Job Duties / Responsibilities Build, install, and repair electrical and electronic circuits used on machine tools and plant equipment Apply knowledge of electronic circuits to locate defects using instruments Test faulty equipment Diagnose malfunctions using knowledge of electronic units and systems Utilize oscilloscopes, signal generators, electronic counters, recorders, etc. Calibrate and service electronic testing instruments Electrically troubleshoot and repair complex machine tools and related equipment Troubleshoot and repair relay logic machines and CNC/PLC‑controlled machines Support electrical aspects of new equipment installation Required Qualifications Demonstrate comprehension of oral instructions and/or printed work orders to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs Proficiency in electrical and electronic theory and application relating to plant operations and equipment Intermediate working knowledge of interpreting schematics and electrical diagrams Three years of experience, or equivalent, before performing intermediate tasks on electrical and electronic machinery and equipment Two years of experience, or equivalent, before performing basic mechanical installation or repair to equipment Desired Qualifications Conduit bending experience What To Expect After Applying Applicants who meet the qualifications will receive a call from our talent acquisition team to discuss qualifications and answer questions Ramsay testing is required for this role Additional Information This position does not offer relocation This position requires no travel Candidates must be at least 18 years of age 3rd shift position, 11:00 pm – 7:00 am Sunday – Thursday What We Offer Competitive starting wages Scheduled wage increases Health, dental and vision insurance available on day one Employee national discounts Development opportunities Paid time off and holidays 401(k) Safety Safety is a core value at Caterpillar.
