Help Desk Technician - Gillette

Salary: $37,440 - 52,000 per year Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework, training, or certification in information technology is preferred.
• Familiarity with Windows PCs, Microsoft 365 applications, common mobile devices, basic networking concepts, and general troubleshooting methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, including the skills to listen carefully, ask relevant questions, research answers, and carry issues through to resolution.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical users.
• Customer-first mindset with patience, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
• Ability to handle multiple support requests, follow established procedures, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate records.
• Dependable, adaptable, and comfortable working in a team-based technical support setting.
• Previous help desk, technical support, customer service, or managed IT services experience is preferred.
• Experience with remote support tools, ticketing systems, and documentation platforms such as ConnectWise, ScreenConnect, or similar is preferred.
• Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or similar are preferred.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices, multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, and password management is preferred.

• Deliver friendly, professional technical support by phone, email, chat, remote session, and in person.
• Diagnose and resolve common issues involving Windows, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, printers, basic networking, and end-user devices.
• Create, update, and close support tickets with clear notes, accurate time tracking, and documented next steps.
• Follow established workflows for prioritizing tickets, escalating issues, communicating with clients, and delivering service.
• Support workstation setup, user account assistance, password resets, application installations, updates, and basic device configuration.
• Explain solutions to clients in a clear, patient, and respectful way so they understand the fix and how to prevent repeat issues when appropriate.
• Recognize tickets that need escalation and coordinate with senior technicians to help ensure timely resolution.
• Take part in onboarding, training, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
