Principal Scientist to Director, Medicinal Chemistry

For more information, please visit Responsibilities Formulate and execute medicinal chemistry strategies and deliver high-quality preclinical candidates consistent with the project timelines agreed upon; Lead drug discovery programs through effective collaboration with internal and external teams, including CROs; Implement innovative drug discovery strategies utilizing deep expertise in novel compound designs and viable synthetic chemistry route designs based on comprehensive knowledge of chemistry, biology, DMPK, pharmacology, pharmaceutical science and toxicology; Apply modern drug discovery principles to analyze new data, solve medicinal chemistry problems, and work with the cross-function teams to advance the projects; Stay current with competitive landscape including intellectual property for the projects; Mentor internal team leaders and team members and build a strong medicinal chemistry team; Provide well-organized reports and presentations to project teams and senior management. Qualifications PhD in synthetic organic or medicinal chemistry with 10+ years of drug discovery experience in a pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology environment; Medicinal chemistry expertise with excellent understanding of biology, pharmacology, DMPK and ability to integrate these disciplines toward successful project advancement; Demonstrated track record in medicinal chemistry as evidenced by successful advancement of drug discovery projects to clinical candidate nomination a strong asset; Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems creatively; Experience in drug discovery and development process; Experience in structure-based drug design; Strong knowledge of and experience in synthetic methodologies; Excellent written and oral, presentation and communication skills; Great leadership skills and experience working in dynamic multidisciplinary environment.
