Your Role as a Home Health Occupational Therapy Assistant

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) , you will provide skilled therapy services in patients’ homes under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Your care will help patients regain independence and improve their ability to perform daily activities safely.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide occupational therapy treatments according to the plan of care established by the Occupational Therapist
• Assist patients with improving activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and safety strategies
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Document visits efficiently using AI-assisted EMR tools

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Active, unencumbered Florida COTA license
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
• CPR certification
• Home health experience preferred but not required
