City Manager

Job Overview The City Manager for the City of Sonoma provides strategic leadership and direct oversight of key functional areas, including Administration, Human Resources, Economic Development, Finance and Budget, and the Successor Agency. The role also serves as a central point of coordination with contracted service providers and maintains strong partnerships with the business community, the Sonoma Chamber of Commerce, local nonprofits, school districts, Sonoma County, and neighboring jurisdictions. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and oversight of Administration, Human Resources, Economic Development, Finance, and Successor Agency. Coordinate with contracted service providers and maintain partnerships with business community, Chamber of Commerce, nonprofits, school districts, County, and neighboring jurisdictions. Qualifications Experienced executive or department head from municipal or comparable private sector organization. Demonstrated ability to lead a complex organization serving all facets of a community. Ability to foster a positive, service-oriented workplace culture prioritizing responsiveness, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Salary The annual salary range is $274,072.70 and is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
