Senior Piping Designer

Piping Walkdown Designer / EngineerPlay an integral role in ensuring that piping systems are accurately verified, documented, and transitioned into reliable operational assets. You will operate as the critical interface between design, construction, and operations—walking systems in the field, validating installation against drawings, and developing accurate as-built documentation. This is a highly technical, field-focused role where your attention to detail and practical expertise directly influence safety, operability, and long-term asset performance.Purpose of the role Play an integral role in providing field engineering and design expertise following construction to ensure accurate as-built documentation of facilities. You will support operations, maintenance, and future project planning by validating installed systems, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring that design documentation reflects real-world conditions.You will be responsible for:Conducting detailed piping system walkdowns to verify installation against issued-for-construction drawings, isometrics, and P&IDsComparing field conditions to design intent, identifying discrepancies, constructability issues, and operational risksMarking up drawings with field revisions to accurately reflect as-built conditionsDocumenting safety concerns, operational constraints, and system deficiencies observed during field verificationCoordinating closely with piping design teams, including offshore teams, to ensure accurate incorporation of redlines and as-built data into design deliverablesSupporting safe execution of all field activities by identifying hazards and ensuring compliance with project and site safety requirementsContributing to quality and completions processes by ensuring piping systems are properly documented and ready to support operations and future modificationsThis role is performed primarily on-site and may involve:Working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, or precipitationExposure to remote locations where immediate assistance may be limitedWorking at heights or in confined or restricted access areasExposure to noise, heavy equipment, and active construction or operating environmentsIrregular schedules or extended hours based on project requirementsTo perform the essential functions of this role, you will be required to:Walk, stand, and climb for extended periods throughout the workdayWork in personal protective equipment for extended durationsMaintain situational awareness in safety-sensitive environmentsPerform tasks requiring manual dexterity, coordination, and balanceThis is a safety-sensitive role in a potentially remote environment where the ability to perform work safely, independently, and as part of a team is critical.About us Worley is a global company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia. Leveraging extensive experience and AI-enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today's needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.What you'll bring to the role You bring strong field design / engineering expertise, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to bridge design and constructionPiping design with field experience or field engineering experience, or equivalent trade qualification supported by relevant industry experienceTypically 7+ years of experience in piping, field engineering, construction, or commissioning within industrial or EPC environmentsProven experience performing piping walkdowns, and system verification on small and medium projectsStrong ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and construction documentationDemonstrated experience identifying and resolving field versus design discrepanciesStrong communication skills, with the ability to clearly document issues, provide structured feedback, and collaborate across teamsStrong knowledge of field systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot and support continuous improvementA safety-first mindset, with a commitment to quality, compliance, and operational integrityAdditional Information:Position is in Fort Collins / Commerce City.Salary: $100,000 - $135,000 annually commensurate with experience.Benefits: Eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.Moving forward together We want our people to be energized and empowered to drive sustainable impact.
