Surgical Coordinator

Surgery Scheduling CoordinatorCoordinates all aspects of surgery scheduling.Responsibilities:Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.Coordinates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities, surgeon, staff and equipment.Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.Requirements:Education: High School diploma or GED.Licensure/Certification: Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.Minimum Experience: None required.BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
