Welding TechnicianEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following and other duties may be assigned:Responsible for set up and operations as required by drawings to meet acceptable quality and productivity standards by either electric arc or automatic wire feed processSets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc or gas welding equipment.Demonstrate soundness of weld joints while maintaining proper weld dimensions, heat and depth of weld to partsShall be subject to radiography, dye penetrant inspection or bend testsResponsible for reading blue prints, handling materials and tools such as; tape measures, plasma cutter, cutting torches drill, bolts, clamps, etc.Inspects parts or completed units by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment.Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts.Performs a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.Responsible to see that all company supplied tools used are placed into proper storage cabinets daily.Assist quality in testing and other efforts as requiredConduct rope winding as necessaryAssist and maintains acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeepingPerforms all other assigned duties as instructed by supervision.RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty safely and satisfactorily using good judgment. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills: Perform basic mathematical calculations at a high school level. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
