Job Full Description

Express Employment Professionals Dayton South is now hiring a Okuma Lathe Operator in Moraine, OH at $19.00/hr. and up, depending on experience.

Key Responsibility

• Study technical drawings to understand dimensions, tolerances, and the sequence of operations. (Blueprints)
• Set up the Okuma lathe by selecting, aligning, and securing fixtures, jaws, and cutting tools.
• Program the Okuma OSP control to regulate factors like speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth of cut.
• Start, monitor, and adjust the machine's operation to ensure quality and detect malfunctions.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to verify they meet specifications and tolerances.
• Identify and resolve issues during the production run, making necessary G-code edits or control adjustments.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools and monitor their wear for replacement.
• Perform general maintenance on the machine to keep it in good working order.

Required Skills and Experience

: Hands-on experience with Okuma equipment and its OSP control system.
: Solid understanding of G-code and the ability to make programming adjustments.
: Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
Inspection Tools: Proficiency with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and various gages.
Attention to Detail: Crucial for meeting strict dimensional tolerances and ensuring quality.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues and work with engineering to find solutions.
