Position Nurse Practitioner Job Type Pool/Non-Exempt Shift Details Pool: Shift hours as needed – 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. A minimum of two shifts per month required. All pool staff, regardless of type, must be available to work at least 2 shifts per month to include the following holidays: Christmas, New Years Day and one other major holiday: Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day. The 2 shifts will be offered based on the provided availability by the employee. New employee orientation is three full days and does require attendance for all days. Training is Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday onsite and full days’ attendance is required. Work Location Crisis – Bridge Center For Hope, Baton Rouge, LA Salary/Hourly Wage $75.00 – $88.00 per hour Specialties / Licenses or Certifications Valid and Current State-Specific NP License PMHNP certification DEA certification Position Summary The Nurse Practitioner position is responsible for coordinating and providing medical/clinical services including engagement, assessment, differential diagnosis, recovery service planning, medication management, education, risk assessment, and discharge planning. The Nurse Practitioner also uses Recovery Coaching to maximize the opportunity to create recovery partnerships and a recovery environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Guest Care & Advocacy: Provides appropriate treatment and referral according to individual’s needs. Prescribes and administers medication. Supervises special diet requirements. Coordinates the relationship with outside medical and nursing support services including pharmacy and laboratory services. Compliance & Risk Management: Supervises or provides nursing and medical care in compliance with licensing regulations and accreditation standards. Ensures completion of designated reviews for all new individuals brought to the facility, making appropriate dispositions in accordance with policy. Initiates and/or ensures appropriate response to all medical emergencies. Communicates complaints and incidents to supervisory personnel. Completes clinical documentation as required. Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified. Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies. Cross Functional Collaboration: Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to continuously improve productivity, efficiency, recovery outcomes and medical care. Additional Duties: Performs other related duties assigned. Job Requirements Education/Licenses: Master’s Degree or above from an accredited School of Nursing with appropriate training as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. Certification in Psychiatric care (PMHNP). Valid DEA registration. Valid and current state-specific RN license and Nurse Practitioner license (Compact licensure preferred). Experience: Experience working in an acute psychiatric setting and training and experience in addiction preferred. Appropriate training as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. Skills: Basic computer skills. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to problem solve. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Effective listening skills. Excellent documentation skills. Must be able to pass de‑escalation training, as defined by state requirements. Working knowledge of involuntary commitment procedures. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion. Driving Requirements: If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations’ driving policy. If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a Non‑Driver Attestation form must be signed. Miscellaneous Requirements: Travel required based on business need. Must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement. Successfully complete and meet all requirements of the comprehensive credentialing process. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism. Provide the required credentials to successfully complete the credentialing process. We are a Second‑Chance Employer – must be able to pass a seven‑year background check; pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable); pass education verification check; obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states that are required; pass three‑year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier (if driving is required for this position). Physical Demands May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye‑hand‑foot coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses. May be required to lift up to twenty (20) pounds. Work Environment May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility. May have contact with individuals who are agitated and/or confused. Work may include travel throughout the geographic region. Requirement: Valid and current state‑specific Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration required. Must be 21 years or older. ADDENDUM – Delaware Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited School of Nursing with appropriate training as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. Licensure: Valid and current state‑specific RN license and Nurse Practitioner license required. Certification: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Certificate required. Misc. Requirement: Valid and current state‑specific Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration required.
